About

I used to have a monkey in the header of my blog, and partially because I think its cheeky and partially so I don’t forget – here’s the story;

When I was around 4 years old I saw a monkey in a store window. It was white, with tan hands and I would do anything to get it. My parents pulled me from the window, but I never stopped thinking about the monkey. I believe it was halloween, my parents led me into their room and the monkey was sitting on the bed. I was absolutely ecstatic, I named the monkey Jummy and he got me through a lot of rough times.

In college, he guarded my dorm freshman year and then spent three years hanging out watching me write code all night in our apartment out in the middle of the wheat fields.

He is now in my dads place in Bellingham with the rest of my childhood stuffed animal crew enjoying his retirement, which includes staring out the window at the trees, eating gourmet bananas and golfing the many fabulous Whatcom County golf courses.

His nickname is Jum for short, which is funny because JUM is the namespace used by JSUnit Test. If he had picked up programming when he was a little younger he would probably now be teaching it at a University level, unfortunately he was more content on observing than actually getting his hands dirty.
